I just returned from my visit to Guatemala, which was absolutely WONDERFUL! Many, many stories and pictures to share...
However, right now I want to just take a moment to ask everyone to pray for the Ferraro family who just lost their 19-year-old son Daniel in a tragic accident. As a new mom, I cannot even imagine how horrible it must be to lose a child.
My dear friend and colleague Kathy Ferraro (Daniel's mom) was the first one to encourage me to take adoption seriously after a long talk this summer. I will forever be grateful to her for helping make the idea of motherhood a possibility and now a reality for me.
We talked briefly this afternoon, and she commented that she was just thinking about how strange it is that she lost her son at the same time that I found my daughter. How precious and brief life is... my heart just aches so much for her and the entire family.
